Steve Bradley –Racing History- Started car racing in the 1970’s with second hand Formula Ford Merlyn Mk11 after a number years karting and attending the Jim Russell Race Driving School at Snetterton
Won three races in first year then started Ashtune Race Hire Business, for 5 years we ran Royale and Van Dieman Formula Fords, 1600 and 2000 plus a Formula Atlantic car. During this period also taught at the SHARP with Ashtune Race Drivers School at Goodwood, with chief instructors Derrick Bell and David Purley.
Won the BRSCC Pre74 Formula Ford Championship in 1982 with a Van Dieman
Raced in Marlborough Formula 3 Championship in 1983 with an Argo JM8 (The Ayrton Senna, Martin Brundell year ) and in 1984 with Ralt RT3 ( finished 2nd in Class B )
1985 Raced successfully in Clubman’s, Sports 2000, and Touring Cars for Chamberlain Engineering with Will Hoy
Won Toyota Formula 3 Championship in 1986 and 1988 (3rd in 1987) with Safir RJ03
Raced in Marlborough Formula 3 Championship 1990 with Ralt RT32, class B wins (Micka Hakkinen year).During this period tested and raced various historic cars for Peter Denty mainly Lotus and GRD in Formula 3 and Formula Junior.
Won the British Formula Junior Championship in 1992 and 1993
Retired 1994-1999, returned in 2000 to race Radical sports cars finishing 2nd in Spa 4 hours
From 2002 to current time have been asked to drive a variety of cars racing in Historic Formula Ford, Formula Junior and Classic Formula Ford 1600. And had wins at Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Mallory Park, Rockingham, Oulton Park, Silverstone and Cadwell Park
Planning to continue racing in Classic Formula Ford next season
and among other things, will be driving a Pre-war American special in Vintage Sports Car Racing!
Since 2003 have run and developed a number of young drivers through my karting business
Currently mentoring and coaching a 14 year old lad who has been with me since first driving and winning Championships with my Cadet karts aged 8. I have already been coaching him for car racing at Bruntingthorpe in a Caterham 7 and we are planning for him to race in the Ginetta Juniors next season.
In addition I have been introducing a number of drivers to performance driving using our Ginetta G40 on track and test days
